Keith is known for joyful calling with clear teaching, quick walk-thrus, and letting the music carry the dance. Choosing interesting dances that flow so that dancers can groove with the music, and move with ease through the dance, is one of her strengths.

Registration for this year's Soirée is off to a strong start. We've gotten a lot of great feedback expressing excitement about this year's choice of band and caller. There is still plenty of room; however, we have significantly more women registered than men and now have a waiting list for single women. We encourage single women to encourage men to register for the Soirée. You can bypass the waiting list by having a man who has not registered to indicate you as their "registration partner" on their registration form. If you can't find a man, please don't be discouraged from sending in your registration as a single woman. Fortunately, we have never had to turn down anyone on the single women's waiting list. We always have had a bunch of men register late. We have a gentleman who would like to register, but needs to find a ride from the Pittsburgh, PA - Cleveland, OH - Columbus, OH area. He is willing to share expenses. Please send your contact information to us if this of interest and we will forward it.

The Soirée is located on a beautiful
college campus surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. Dancers
choose the combination of meals and lodging that will best suit them. We
offer dorm lodging and campus meals for those who want to stay on
campus. Another alternative is to enjoy one of Asheville's
charming Bed and Breakfasts. Many dancers tell us that the relaxed
college atmosphere, the beautiful flowers, the superb dancing, and the
spectacular music make the Summer Soirée their favorite dance weekend. We encourage folks to register early. We are committed to keeping the dance floor safe and comfortable, so registration is limited. For the last several years, we have filled up and unfortunately had to turn dancers away. This year we are reducing our “full attendance” in order to make the dance floor a little less crowded. We expect we will fill up sooner this year. We try to keep the genders somewhat balanced. In past years, single women have tended to sign up right away, and single men have tended to sign up late. So, we encourage women who want to avoid being on the waiting list to sign up early or to twist the arm of a guy and sign up together as a "couple." |
